Event Description

DENVER, CO (March 2, 2018) —The Colorado Culture of Health & Wellbeing Conference, the state’s largest event focused on improving employee wellness will take place on May 2, 2018 at the Colorado Convention Center.   Marking its 11th year, the conference brings together employers, wellness managers and other health professionals who work to improve all facets of employee health.  Keynote, lunch, and breakout sessions will include topics on Health Literacy, Value-based Benefit Design, Economics of Wellness, Employee Engagement and Health Policy/Legal Compliance.

Headlining the conference and presenting on various aspects of health literacy, will be digital health strategist Leonard Kish, PhD, Co-Founder & CEO of YouBase; health care strategist Scott Conard, MD; and Al Lewis, President & Founder of Quizzify, a Jeopardy-meets-health benefit education-meets-Comedy Central.

The Culture of Health conference has built a reputation as a one-stop shop for employers seeking worksite wellness and benefits management solutions in maintaining a healthy workforce for their employees.

In addition to keynote speakers and break-out sessions, the all-day conference will also feature the State of Diabetes Breakfast presented by the American Diabetes Association and the announcement of the annual Colorado Governor’s Award for Worksite Wellness. A presentation of the American Diabetes Association’s Health Champion Designation will also take place.

The State of Diabetes Breakfast sponsored by Walmart is centered on celebrating and promoting a culture of wellness within worksites across Colorado. The American Diabetes Association’s engagement is designed to inspire and fuel our nation's healthful habits at work and beyond. With year-round opportunities, the Association helps companies, organizations, and communities educate and motivate people to adopt healthful habits to reduce the impact of prediabetes, diabetes, and other obesity-related illnesses. For some, it means fewer sick days and higher productivity. For others, it means looking and feeling better. For everyone, the result is empowerment—Americans who are better able to control, delay or prevent diabetes and related health problems.

“We are thrilled to present the State of Diabetes during the breakfast session at this year’s Colorado Culture of Health & Wellbeing Conference,” said David Samson, Area Executive Director for the American Diabetes Association. “This partnership with the Colorado Business Group on Health showcases the importance of collaboration in order to accelerate efforts to reduce the impact of diabetes and other related illnesses in Colorado through wellness and healthy habits at work.”

The conference offers professional development credits from the Society of Human Resource Management and continuing nursing education credits from the California Board of Registered Nursing for attendees who qualify. Last year’s conference drew over 600 attendees.
