“We’re so proud to be a part of Lafayette’s vibrant, diverse community, and to be anchored in a city that cherishes public art. Even in difficult times, we can celebrate our city, our local plants and wildlife, and share our creativity. I’m really looking forward to the day where we can walk and play in this garden together!” said Joanna Cagan, Executive Director, WOW! Children’s Museum.

“City Council is proud to have provided funding in 2019 to help make this project happen,” said Lafayette Mayor Jamie Harkins. “Our art scene is one of the things that makes Lafayette great. The WOW! Community Art Garden is an excellent way for us to continue engaging the community with art and planting seeds of creativity.”

The title has nothing to do with the character in AMC’s “Breaking Bad”. British playwright Simon Stephens borrows his title from the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle of quantum physics. The play tells the story of an electric encounter that thrusts two strangers, Georgie, a 42-year-old bipolar woman, and Alex, a 75-year-old butcher, into a fascinating and life-changing game. In the words of renowned physicist, Richard Feynman, “I will not describe it in terms of an analogy with something familiar. I will simply describe it.” (See Richard P. Feynman, “The Messenger Lectures”, 1964, MIT.) And that is exactly what Stephens does with his unconventional take on the opposites attract theory of relationships; he simply describes it and leaves it up to us to struggle with our desire to see it in terms of something familiar. In a nod to quantum entanglement, the play is also a study in the way that two people can change each other, in this case for the better.

HEISENBERG is directed by Chris Thatcher, an acting coach and director formerly from Los Angeles. Thatcher has run the “Chris Thatcher Acting Studio” in Boulder for over a decade, and is the founder of “Drala Productions”. He says “we chose this play to expose our community to the diversity of human relationships free from judgment or bias.” Thatcher happens to have another auspicious Boulder connection: He was an undergrad theater major and advisee of the late Boulder theatre luminary, Gordon Wickstrom. (http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/dailycamera/obituary.aspx?n=gordon-wickstrom&pid=172520768)

Playwright Simon Stephens is internationally renowned for his award-winning play, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Boulder’s production of HEISENBERG stars Kasey Lohman and Danny Mann, and is running at the Carsen Theater at The Dairy Center for the Arts in an intimate audience configuration as it was in the original Off-Broadway and Broadway productions. General admission tickets available from $20-$25, at the Dairy Center Box Office, https://thedairy.org/Online/Heisenberg
Sing Along Boulder led by FACE this Saturday, Oct. 22tag:www.mytowncolorado.com,2016-10-20:2021996:Topic:1772132016-10-20T16:25:50.412ZScott Johnsonhttps://www.mytowncolorado.com/profile/ScottJohnson

There were over 500 people last year. We’re aiming for over 2,000 this year.

Sing Along Loveland will also take place on Oct. 22, from 3–4:30 pm at the People’s Market in downtown Loveland.

This is where events will be happening on the seven continents:

She was bullied for over two years in middle school and says it was the “darkest and loneliest time” of her life. With the hope of helping other kids who are experiencing bullying, Claridge began the Bullied to Bold tour, traveling to schools and youth related organizations throughout Colorado, sharing her story and message of hope. “I don’t want anyone to feel alone,” Claridge says. “I want them to know that they can overcome being bullied.”

Her message is one of inspiration, hope and strength as she encourages kids to put down their fear, put down the shame and rise above the pain.

Ironically, in the midst of the Bullied to Bold tour, Claridge is experiencing cyber-bullying from several teenage girls whom she has never met. “These girls have targeted Maya via Instagram and have posted numerous negative comments about her, mainly making fun of how she looks,” said Beverly Brenner, management and booking agent for the Bullied to Bold tour.

Claridge appears un-phased by the cyber-bullying attacks against her, stating, “I’ve dealt with bullies before and I refuse to give them the power to hurt me.”

Determined to continue reaching out to others with a message of kindness, Claridge does not respond to the negative comments she receives via social media. “They can say what they want to say about me but they’re mean words aren’t going to change who I am or what I’m doing,” Claridge says.

Claridge will appear on Colorado & Company (9News) on January 22, 2016 to promote the Bullied to Bold tour and her song entitled, PUT IT DOWN, which was written specifically for the tour and produced by Billboard award-winning producer, Marc Williams at Indasoul Records.

"If I can survive being bullied, so can you," says Claridge, who describes the years in which she was bullied as the "darkest and loneliest time" of her life. "I don't want anyone to feel alone," she says which is why she started the Bullied to Bold tour. Traveling to middle schools throughout the state, Claridge shares her story and delivers her message of hope, inspiring and encouraging students toward both survival and change.

Too many nights you lay and cry, don't want to face another day," are lyrics from Claridge's upcoming release entitled, PUT IT DOWN, which was written and recorded specifically for the Bullied to Bold tour. Releasing the song with Indasoul Records, Claridge hopes it will help empower students who are being bullied to transform from victim to victor.
