OLIVIA ROX! The Movie Premiere!
A Family Event with proceeds Benefiting the Humane Society of Boulder Valley.
Featuring the movie and special live performances by world renowned saxophonist Warren Hill, and singer/songwriter Olivia Hill (who plays Olivia Rox!). The movie premiere is starring the little girl who is currently playing "Annie" (Olivia Hill) at the Boulder Dinner Theatre. It is a World Movie Premiere for a movie entitled "Olivia Rox!" being held right here in Boulder! It's a red carpet, family event. It will be a fun filled night for Parent's and their children to get all gussied up, and have a night on the town. Opening up the whole evening will be a concert by World renowned recording artist (saxophonist/ singer) Warren Hill, ( warrenhill.com ) They will then show the movie "Olivia Rox!", and then on to Olivia Rox herself performing a concert. Ten year old Olivia Hill has written all of the music by herself for the movie. The Movie Synopsis: The animal shelter is in trouble and puppies are missing! Who will solve the mystery and save the shelter from closing? Enter the world of Olivia Rox! on her fun filled adventure!
In the first feature film of the Olivia Rox! series, ten year old Olivia Hill stars as Olivia Roxamillion (Olivia Rox for short), a resourceful young girl whose bravery, compassion and determination help her to try and solve a mystery that could save her town's local animal shelter from closing down. In the film, Olivia, a modern day Nancy Drew, is presented with a mystery that she must solve. During the course of her adventures she is inspired to compose and sing new songs based on the film's underlying messages. The songs in the movie are all actually written and performed by lead actress Olivia Hill. Rox's unconventional home-life consists of her Dad - Dr. Rox (played by critically acclaimed musician Warren Hill), an eccentric scientist / inventor who designs top secret projects for the government. Nanny, who has helped raise her since she was a baby. And Uncle Ronnie, who looks completely human, but inside is really a robot, created by Dr. Rox as a "big brother" to look after Olivia, as well as helping Dr. Rox with his experiments. No one outside the Rox family knows that Ronnie is a robot - they just think he's Olivia's quirky Uncle. The local animal shelter is on the verge of bankruptcy, and possibly being forced to shut it's doors. To make matters worse, the new batch of puppies have been stolen! Could it be the evil corporate guy Sly Fox, who wants them for animal testing? Or is it the owner of the Animal Shelter Miss Incutane, who needs the money to stay open, and is selling them secretly to animal testers? Do the kids all call her "Miss Inhumane" for a reason?Determined to recover the stolen puppies, Olivia steps in to solve the mystery. She then recruits her Uncle Ronnie, and with his help, she's able to "borrow" top secret gadgets, including a time machine from her Dad's secret lab to assist her in her sleuthing. Olivia writes a brand new song to perform at the benefit concert which will hopefully raise enough money to keep the Shelter open!So whether she's solving a mystery, performing a new song, or making the world a better place... either way... Olivia always Rocks! In a nut shell... cute dogs, feisty kids and a great big happy ending... everything you would want out of a movie... that's enough to please the parents, too.
College graduation is typically celebrated with family gatherings, followed by summer jobs and fun in the sun. But a national concert tour? Well yes, if you are recent Earlham College grads Dan Mahle and Jamie Utt and their colleague Ian Shaw of the University of Oregon, winners of a $10,000 grant from the Davis Foundation’s 100 Projects for Peace.

The award-winning project, "Change from Within: A Verbal Vehicle for Peace and Youth Empowerment," is a speaking and performance tour that will be presented at schools, conferences, camps and other venues across the country this summer. The tour will include the trio’s return to Colorado on Thursday, June 12th with an 8pm performance at Mahle and Shaw’s alma mater, the Shining Mountain Waldorf School in Boulder. Utt is also a Colorado native, hailing from Grand Junction. Admission is free for the performance; seating is limited so early arrivals are encouraged. The program content is suitable for ages 14 and up.

"The name of this project reflects our belief that the changes we want to see in the world must begin from within each of us," says Mahle, who along with Shaw formed the socially conscious, hip-hop music group IDeology in 2003 in their hometown of Boulder, Colo.
During the tour, IDeology will perform several songs before introducing Utt's interactive, hands-on presentation titled "The Wall." For the past four years Utt has presented "The Wall" to combat prejudice, bigotry and hate to audiences around the country.

"Because Dan and Ian’s music is entertaining yet powerfully focused on social justice, it has the power to draw in young people to think about social justice issues," says Utt. "My interactive presentation then offers practical, hands-on processes for finding constructive solutions to combat prejudice, bigotry and hate in our world. By mixing entertainment with a message, we're bridging the gap between young people and some pretty serious discussion they might not readily jump into.”

The partners say they hope to inspire positive change by mobilizing young people to promote peace in their own communities.

To get involved and obtain more information about IDeology’s music and “Change from Within: A Verbal Vehicle for Peace and Youth Empowerment” please visit www.changefromwithin.org.
About 100 Projects for Peace: The program is in its second year and honors philanthropist Kathryn Wasserman Davis, who launched the initiative on her 100th birthday to encourage motivated youth to create and implement their ideas for building peace throughout the world. A competition for the funding took place on 81 of the 88 campuses in the United World College Scholars Program, which provides grants to select American colleges and universities in support of students from all over the world who have completed their pre-university studies at UWC schools.
