The YWCA of Boulder County and Reading to End Racism are excited to announce the fall 2008 book selections for the Race in America Book Club. The Race in America Book Club is a discussion group open to all community members interested in learning more about the impact of race and racism in our society in an open and safe environment. Books and films are used as tools for guiding discussion.The Race in America Book Club will be reading the following books in the fall 2008:
September 16th – Author’s Lecture with Adam Schrager, author of The Principled Politician: The Ralph Carr Story
October 9th – Americans in Waiting by Hiroshi Motomura
November 6th – The Accidental Asian by Eric Liu
December 4th – “An Elementary Education: A Documentary about Boulder’s Columbine Elementary School” (Film Screening)Book club members are expected to read each book prior to the book club meeting and be prepared to discuss the material.
