New Children’s Business Offers Classes, Birthday Parties, Camps, Field Trips, Memberships, and More!
(Westminster, Colorado, 08/15/08) — Waco-based Young Chefs International today announced the opening of its newest Young Chefs Academy (“YCA”) in Westminster, Colorado. As the first location in Colorado, YCA Broomfield-Westminster strives to help budding chefs learn the basics of cooking while participating in the preparation of real recipes that they sample at the end of each class. To celebrate its opening, the store will host a special Grand Opening bash on August 23. Young Chefs Academy’s mission is to teach children the importance and value of cooking in a
setting that encourages safety, discovery, creativity, and above all, fun!
“We are very excited to become part of the Westminster/Broomfield community,” said Eric and Kristen Frantz, local YCA owners.
Julie Burleson and Suzy Nettles founded Young Chefs International in April 2003 to teach children basic culinary skills and progress into more complex food preparation. While learning cooking skills is the main ingredient, YCA classes also incorporate a heap of kitchen safety, a scoop of etiquette, a handful of napkin folding, a pinch of menu planning, and laughter to taste. Burleson and Nettles believe this is the perfect recipe for showing children that cooking is a lifelong skill that can be artistic, creative, and sometimes surprising. YCA’s kid-friendly kitchen also provides a “real” setting that allows students to use what they learn in their own homes. The goal of YCA is to see families back in the kitchen, whether by exploring exotic cuisine or baking cookies.
“Cooking together has always been a part of our relationship,” said Eric and Kristen Frantz. “We enjoy preparing and sharing a good meal with others. Our hope is that kids and their parents will experience the delight of cooking firsthand.”
