Nearly 26 million adults and children in the U.S. – including 316,000 in Colorado – are living with diabetes and an additional 79 million have pre-diabetes. If current trends continue, one in three American adults will have diabetes by 2050. People with diabetes can take steps to manage the disease and lower the risk of its deadly complications. Early diagnosis and treatment of diabetes is critical. Unfortunately, many people living with diabetes do not even know it.
Learn your risk for diabetes and get involved in the fight to Stop Diabetes by attending the American Diabetes Association EXPO Denver on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Colorado Convention Center from 9am – 4pm. This free health and wellness event offers health screenings, cooking
demonstrations, presentations on preventing and managing diabetes, youth activities and much more. To learn more about EXPO Denver visit www.diabetes.org/expodenver.
The American Diabetes Association and the Community Leadership Board work tirelessly to Stop Diabetes and to change the lives of those touched by the disease – individuals, children and families. We offer comfort and guidance to newly diagnosed adults and the parents of newly diagnosed children. We help people of all ages to better understand, cope with, or prevent this complex disease – which can be managed, but not cured. We bring hope and a sense of community through inspirational events, such as our EXPO Denver. We stand ready to lend support so that no one has to face diabetes alone.
