Pete Lewis and Clare Church, members of the local jazz group Polarity, will direct  the Monarch High School jazz bands present their energy-charged fall concert at 7 p.m., Wednesday, November 6th, in the William Johnson Auditorium at Monarch High School. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students.

All three jazz bands will perform, and the set list includes swing, funk, Latin, rock, and more. “The most important feature of the evening is that our soloists will be improvising,” said Church. “There will be no written solos. The audience will hear these kids create spontaneous melodies.”  Musical selections will range all the way from Duke Ellington’s Royal Garden Blues to Radioheads’ The Body Snatchers.

We would love for the middle school students and their families to come and enjoy the evening’s entertainment and be inspired.
