Lafayette, Colorado – WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) today announced upcoming events and programs at the Museum for the month of April.  Unless otherwise noted, all listed events and programs are included with Museum admission.

 

Yoga for Kids – Every Wednesday in April

Time: 4:00pm

Join us for a fun, encouraging beginner level yoga class for all ages (toddlers too)! In this 30 minute session, you’ll learn basic poses that help to create healthy energy, offer physical challenge and inspire your imagination. No mat necessary, just bring a smile and wear comfortable shorts or pants. Parents are welcome to join too!  Included with Museum admission.

 

Mountain Kids Story Time – Thursday, April 6th

Time: 12:00pm

Miss Kristin from Mountain Kids Louisville will host a fun story time with bubbles, short stories and a sing-a-long with shakers. This active and engaging story time will make reading fun for young learners!  Included with Museum admission.

           

Integral Steps Presents Music & Movement – Friday, April 14th

Time: 1:00pm

High energy, exciting and fun, this program allows children to dance and play through a combination of music, movement, biology, and art!  This music and movement program is presented by Emma Shubin of Integral Steps and is included with Museum admission.

 

Ugandan Kids Choir – Saturday, April 15th

Time: 1:00pm

WOW! is pleased to host the Ugandan Kids Choir for a truly unique musical performance! Touring throughout the United States, the choir consists of ten children, ages 8-12, who perform traditional African singing, dancing, and drumming.  The choir’s hope is to raise awareness and engage individuals in sponsoring children in the developing world, who are living in poverty by providing them with an education as well as spiritual and ethical training, leading to a better future.  This cultural program is generously sponsored by the Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission and is included with Museum admission.

 

Discovery Days Science Program – Tuesday, April 18th and Wednesday, April 19th

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm

Science is for everyone, science is everywhere, and science is fun! At this month’s Discovery Days program, we're learning how to be green in celebration of Earth Day.    WOW!'s Discovery Days program encourages free exploration of different monthly themes through multi-sensory science activities, dramatic role play, relevant math and reading opportunities, and craft projects.  Discovery Days activities are included with Museum admission.

 

Itsy Bitsy Bugs – Tuesday, April 25th

Time: 10:00am

Presented by the Butterfly Pavilion, this 30 minute program is guaranteed to keep your toddlers fluttering, hopping, and singing.  Program includes puppets, music, and of course, live bugs to keep your tots buzzing with excitement!  Included with Museum admission.

 

Retirement Party for Lulu the Bearded Dragon – Sunday, April 30th

Time: 10:30am

For nearly 13 years, Lulu the Bearded Dragon has called WOW! home.  Join us as we bid Lulu the Bearded Dragon “bon voyage” as Lulu is ready to spend her retirement years in a quiet, loving home.  We’ll be celebrating Lulu’s time at the Museum with a reptile party featuring some special reptile guests!  Included with Museum admission.
