Lafayette, Colorado – WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) today announced upcoming events and programs at the Museum for the month of August. Unless otherwise noted, all listed events and programs are included with Museum admission.
Mountain Kids Story Time – Thursday, August 3rd
Miss Kristin from Mountain Kids Louisville will host a fun story time with bubbles, short stories and a sing-a-long with shakers. This active and engaging story time will make reading fun for young learners! Included with Museum admission.
IDEA it Lab – Thursday, August 3rd
Stop by and visit with the team from IDEA it Lab! Experience new innovation in science learning by exploring a hands-on experiment with a digital stream table prototype or play with a real stream table. Geared for children ages 7 and older. Included with Museum admission.
Get Growing Garden Program with Ollin Farms – Friday, August 4th
Garden Program: 10:00am
Packing the Right Lunch: 11:00am
Join the farmers from Ollin Farms for our hands-on summer garden program series. Kids are invited to explore the garden, help plant and harvest veggies, and learn what plants need to grow. After the program, learn tips and insights from Ollin Farms about packing healthy lunches for the upcoming school year! The garden program in included with Museum admission.
Exploration Universe Science Program – Friday, August 4th
Science is for everyone, science is everywhere, and science is fun! Join Exploration Universe for hands-on science experiments and activities. All ages are welcome to participate! This special science program is included with Museum admission.
Integral Steps Presents Music & Movement – Friday, August 11th
High energy, exciting and fun, this program allows children to dance and play through a combination of music, movement, biology, and art! This program is presented by Emma Shubin of Integral Steps and is included with Museum admission.
WOW! By Night – An Evening in Space – Friday, August 11th
3...2...1...liftoff! Join WOW! and the Fiske Planetarium for an evening of galactic proportions! Watch the stars in the mobile planetarium, touch real-life meteors, create an eclipse viewer craft, enjoy snacks provided by Alfalfa's, and more! Discovery Days Science Program – Tuesday, August 15th & Wednesday, August 16th
At this month’s Discovery Days program, we're learning about the connection between science and art. We’re getting creative this month because We ♥ Art! WOW!'s Discovery Days program encourages free exploration of different monthly themes through multi-sensory science activities, dramatic role play, relevant math and reading opportunities, and craft projects. Discovery Days activities are included with Museum admission.
Music Lingua Demo Class – Tuesday, August 22nd
Come join this “Life in the Ocean” themed demo class and see how you and your child can learn Spanish through music, movement, storytelling and art! Classes are taught in thematic units and geared for kids up to age 8. Included with Museum admission.
Munchkins ♥ Music – Friday, August 25th and Tuesday, August 29th
Munchkins ♥ Music is a mixed-age class (0-3 years) that teaches music intelligence in a natural and fun learning environment. Based on the teaching methods of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, this Early Childhood Education class blossoms from three foundational beliefs: every child can learn, ability develops early, and environment nurtures growth. You and your child will experience the beauty of music in a way that is accessible to every child. Included with Museum admission, however, class is limited to 15 children.
