The Broomfield Blitz Football League placed 4 teams in the Coal Creek Midget Football League (CCMFL)Championships andfour more in the 3rd/4th place consolation games. TheBlitz brought home two championships, two runner-up trophies, two third place finishes and two more fourth place finishes and one 5 th place finish.Broomfield Blitz Youth Football league plays at the highest level of football competition offered for boys in Broomfield. The Blitz did very well this season as first year members of the CCMFL. Broomfield Youth Football continues to attract the best players the city as a player development league. According to league president Mike Rynearson "Blitz did very well this year considering more than 50% of our teams played for 3rd place or better. There is a buzz in the Broomfield community now that if your son wants to play high school football or beyond, the Blitz is a great program. One other great thing about playing Blitz football is your son can get a preview of what high school football is all about as we play for the championships against the surrounding communities"The Broomfield Blitz 7 year old team won 25 to 18 over Hyland Hills to finish the season 7-3 and take home third place in the CCMFL 7 year old division.The Broomfield Blitz 9 year old Navy team finished with a perfect 9-0 record and won the Championship game versus the Brighton Bulldogs 48 - 0. This Blitz team did not surrender a single score all season.The 10 year old Navy had their perfect record derailed in the CCMFL Championship against the Northglenn Cardinals 12-7. Northglenn carried a five and four record into the game and was able to complete a touchdown pass with no time on the clock to win the game and send Broomfield to a 9-1 second place finish.The 10 year old White team finished 3 rd in the league with a 39 to 0 win verses the Lafayette Bobcats.The 11 year old Navy team avenged a regular season loss in the CCMFL championship game against the Brighton Silver Bulldogs by winning 14 to 7. In a defensive struggle from the outset, The Blitz worked a pounding running game with a well devised deep passing strategy to lead the way to victory.The 12 year old Navy team lost a close game 14-6 to the Northglenn Buffaloes and finished in fourth place with a 6-4 record on the season.The 13 year old Navy team fell short to the Northglenn Rams 24 to 8 in the CCMFL 13yr old Championship game to take the Runner-ups trophy.The 13 year oldWhite team tasted defeat at the hands of the Northglenn Panthers 6 to 0 in a clash for 3 rd place.The Broomfield Blitz Youth Football League ( www.broomfieldfootball.com) plays in the Coal Creek Midget Football League (CCMFL). TheCCMFL is currently comprised 124 teams from 9 chapters including Brighton, Broomfield, Commerce City, Erie, CarbonValley, Hyland Hills, Lafayette, Lousiville, Northglenn, and Superior. The Blitz have a total 13 teams across the 7 age groups.
