Today at around 1:00 PM, a coyote made its way onto Farrand Field, right in the middle of the main campus of CU Boulder.  By the time I got there at around 2:00 PM, it was still relaxing, and several police officers were on hand to make sure that nobody did anything stupid.

When the coyote did get up and move around, you could tell that something was wrong with one of its back legs, as it was clearly favoring one of them.  Other than that, it seemed fine, and looked a lot like my dog does when she just wants to take a nap!

The police let the animal stay settled on the field for awhile, but eventually they obviously decided that it would be better for the animal to get a move on, and one of the officers ran after it to see if he could get it to run away.  Once the coyote started running, I couldn't see any more evidence of the limp, and it didn't seem to hinder it from running.

The officer was able to chase it off of the field, and it ran across the street and took refuge under a tree near Broadway.
