Lafayette, Colorado - WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) announced today upcoming events, programs, and activities at the Museum for the month of December. All events are included with Museum admission.
Colorado Gives Day – December 4th
Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, Colorado Gives Day is a 24-hour period to “Give Where You Live” on December 4th by making online donations to the hundreds of Colorado charities featured on Community First Foundation’s online giving resource, GivingFirst.org. As a profiled charity on GivingFirst.org, WOW! Children’s Museum will benefit directly from this initiative.
Hanukkah Celebration – December 7th
Time: 11:00am to Noon
Celebrate Hanukkah with WOW! and the Boulder Jewish Community Center. Listen to a Hanukkah story, "light" our recycled art menorah, and learn how to play dreidel! Activities included with Museum admission.
Make Your Own Gift Wrap – December 15th
Time: 11:00am-1:00pm
Study the art of printmaking while creating your own gift wrap, present tags, or card. Foam stamping blocks and washable paint will allow children to explore printing, stamping, and patterns in design. Take home a personal piece to use for your holidays!
December Discovery Days – December 18th & December 19th
Time: 10:00am-1:00pm
This month’s theme: Do You See What I See?
Discover your inner scientist! Drop-in and explore our monthly informal hands-on science sessions. This month, we’re learning about light and reflections! Activities are open for exploration from 10:00am-1:00pm and are included with your Museum admission. This is a LEAP into Science program, offered in partnership with the Lafayette Public Library.
Amazing Ornaments Craft – December 22nd
Time: 11:00am-1:00pm
Make a keepsake ornament with your child using felt, fabric glue, and stencils. Add their class picture (at home) or stitch on your child's name to create a special keepsake. These ornaments make great gift tags for decorating teacher's and hostess gifts, and holiday presents!
Animals in Winter Program – December 28th
Time: 11:00am
Come learn from the City of Boulder's Open Space and Mountain Parks Department about black bears, mountain lions, and deer and what they do during the winter months. This program will be presented in both English and Spanish.
New Year’s Eve Celebration – December 31st
Time: 11:00am-1:00pm
Ring in the New Year (a few hours early) at WOW! Children's Museum. WOW!’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration includes noise maker crafts, entertainment by acclaimed musician Eric West, parade around the Museum and special countdown at noon. Refreshments compliments of Whole Foods Market in Superior. WOW! will be open on New Year’s Eve from 9:00am-2:00pm.
