Lafayette, Colorado – WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) today announced upcoming events and programs at the Museum for the month of December. Unless otherwise noted, all listed events and programs are included with Museum admission.
Colorado Gives Day – Tuesday, December 4th

Boulder Opera Presents Little Red Riding Hood – Tuesday, December 4th
Join us for a special presentation by the Boulder Opera! Performers will read a short story and perform excerpts from their upcoming family opera, "Little Red Riding Hood." This classic and beloved fairytale is the perfect introduction to opera for children. This program is included with Museum admission.
Create Your Own Light Box – Wednesday, December 5th
Create your own light box with Gini, Director of Early Childhood Education! Light boxes are dynamic and exciting learning tools that are compatible with many different activities and objects. Together, we will assemble your light box, create a few light box activities, and you get to take your light box home! Your light box could also make a fun holiday gift for a friend or neighbor!
Cost: $20 per family; $18 per WOW! member family
Littlest Learners Class with Bonne Nuit Baby – Tuesday, December 11th
Littlest Learners is a new series of hands-on classes for infants and toddlers (ages 0-3 years) and their caregivers to explore fine motor, gross motor, and cognitive experiences. Classes are offered monthly with a different theme each month. In this class, we will be joined by special guest Bonne Nuit Baby. As a certified sleep consultant, Leigh McMahon with Bonne Nuit Baby helps exhausted moms and dads get their child’s sleep back on track. She addresses a wide range of sleep concerns for children 0 – 5 years. Littlest Learners class is included with Museum admission.
Calling All Math Wizards – Tuesday, December 11th
Join Gini, Director of Early Childhood Education, to stretch your math skills with this open-ended math tray activity. Together we will create a math tray, practice different math games, and will challenge you to come up with your own games and activities too! This activity is geared for children ages 2-5 years and is included with Museum admission. Unable to attend the program? Integral Steps Program – Friday, December 14th
High energy, exciting and fun, this program allows children to dance and play through a combination of music, movement, biology, and art! This program is presented by Emma Shubin of Integral Steps and is included with Museum admission.
Littlest Learners Class – Wednesday, December 19th
Littlest Learners is a new series of hands-on classes for infants and toddlers (ages 0-3 years) and their caregivers to explore fine motor, gross motor, and cognitive experiences. Classes are offered monthly with a different theme each month. In this class, we will be joined by Mary Lynch, postpartum and labor doula. Mary specializes in lactation support, infant sleep support and is knowledgeable about the RIE education approach and the Reggio Emilia approach. Littlest Learners class is included with Museum admission.
WOW!’s New Year’s Eve Parties – Monday, December 31st
Party #1: 10:00am-12:00pm
Party #2: 1:00pm-3:00pm
Ring in the New Year at WOW! before bedtime! Join us for noisemaker crafts, face painting, balloon animals, Bunny and Birdie Comedy Magic Show, and refreshments – all leading up to a grand countdown celebration to ring in 2019!
