Lafayette, Colorado – WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) today announced upcoming events and programs at the Museum for the month of July.  Unless otherwise noted, all listed events and programs are included with Museum admission.

 

Get Growing Garden Program with Ollin Farms – Tuesday, July 3rd

Time: 10:45am

Join the farmers from Ollin Farms for our summer garden program series.  Learn what plants need to grow while digging in the dirt and help us plant and harvest veggies in our garden! The garden program is included with Museum admission.

 

Yoga for Kids – July 11th, July 18th and July 25th

Time: 4:00pm

Children of all ages (toddlers too!) are invited to join us for a fun, encouraging beginner level yoga class! In this 30-minute session, children will learn basic poses to create healthy energy, offer physical challenge, and inspire your imagination. No mat necessary, just bring a smile and wear comfortable shorts or pants. Parents are welcome to join too!  Included with Museum admission.

 

Sensory Friendly Playtime – Sunday, July 15th

Time: 8:00am-10:00am

Sensory Friendly Playtime is a low sensory event for children with autism spectrum or sensory processing disorders. This month, families can explore our new sensory friendly exhibit, Forest of Light, and participate in an adapted music and movement class hosted by special guest A Child’s Song!   WOW! will turn down sounds and lights, and provide adaptive equipment to offer a safe and fun experience for all.  Admission is free for participating families, however, reservations are required.  To reserve a space for your family visit: http://wowchildrensmuseum.org/visit/sensory-friendly-playtime/

 

“Where Did the Sun Go?” Storytime – Tuesday, July 17th

Time: 11:00am

Join children's science book author Misty Carty as she reads her new book "Where Did the Sun Go?" about last year's solar eclipse. After storytime, children can participate in a hands-on STEAM activity inspired by the story.  Included with Museum admission.

 

Integral Steps Program – Friday, July 20th

Time: 11:00am

High energy, exciting and fun, this program allows children to dance and play through a combination of music, movement, biology, and art!  This program is presented by Emma Shubin of Integral Steps and is included with Museum admission.

 

Healthy Food Program with Chef Ann Cooper – Tuesday, July 24th

Time: 10:00am

Make healthy treats with special guest Chef Ann Cooper, the Renegade Lunch Lady! Chef Ann has been a constant champion of school food reform as an important avenue through which to improve childhood nutrition. Chef Ann will teach visitors about making healthy food choices while making healthy snacks. This special event is included with Museum admission.

 

WOW! Family Dance Party – Friday, July 27th

Time: 5:30pm-7:30pm

Let's party! Join us for an after-hours event for the whole family! Put on your dancing shoes for an evening of fun activities, including a kid-friendly DJ, hands-on science crafts, hula-hooping on the patio, prizes, snacks, and more! Boxed dinners are available to purchase in advance with your ticket. Boxed dinners include a sub sandwich, chips, pickle, cookie, and drink.
