Lafayette, Colorado – WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) today announced upcoming events and programs at the Museum for the month of March. Unless otherwise noted, all listed events and programs are included with Museum admission.
Yoga for Kids – Every Wednesday in March
Join us for a fun, encouraging beginner level yoga class for all ages (toddlers too)! In this 30 minute session, you’ll learn basic poses that help to create healthy energy, offer physical challenge and inspire your imagination. No mat necessary, just bring a smile and wear comfortable shorts or pants. Parents are welcome to join too! Included with Museum admission.
Mountain Kids Story Time – Thursday, March 2nd
Miss Kristin from Mountain Kids Louisville will host a fun story time with bubbles, short stories and a sing-a-long with shakers. This active and engaging story time will make reading fun for young learners! Included with Museum admission.
Integral Steps Presents Music & Movement – Friday, March 10th
High energy, exciting and fun, this program allows children to dance and play through a combination of music, movement, biology, and art! This music and movement program is presented by Emma Shubin of Integral Steps and is included with Museum admission.
McTeggart Irish Dancers – Tuesday, March 11th
Get into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit with a special performance by the McTeggart Irish Dancers! This cultural program is sponsored by the Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission and is included with Museum admission.
Nutrition Know-How with Natural Grocers – Thursday, March 16th
Children and families are invited to learn about healthy eating with this nutrition program presented by Helen Dohrman, CN, Natural Grocers Lafayette Health Coach. In this hands-on program, children will make vegetable and fruit kabobs while learning the colors of the rainbow. Included with Museum admission.
Sensory Friendly Playtime – Sunday, March 19th
Sensory Friendly Playtime is a special Museum event for children with autism spectrum or sensory processing disorders. WOW! will limit admission to 20 families, turn down sounds and lights, and provide adaptive equipment to offer a safe and fun experience for all! Reservations are required and space is limited. Admission is free thanks to WOW!’s donor supported Play for All Initiative and sponsors KidSPOT Pediatric Therapies and Brain Balance of Superior and Longmont.
Discovery Days Science Program – Tuesday, March 21st and Wednesday, March 22nd
Science is for everyone, science is everywhere, and science is fun! At this month’s Discovery Days program, we're learning about very big and very small things. WOW!'s Discovery Days program encourages free exploration of different monthly themes through multi-sensory science activities, dramatic role play, relevant math and reading opportunities, and craft projects. Discovery Days activities are included with Museum admission.
NanoDays Celebration – March 28th, March 29th & March 30th
Join us for NanoDays, celebrating the science of the small! Explore how to make things invisible, investigate new nano products and materials, make nano crafts to keep, and launch nano particles with an air cannon! Organized by NISE Net, NanoDays is a nationwide festival of educational programs about nanoscale science and engineering. This special science program is included with Museum admission.
Boulder Bach Festival Performance – Friday, March 31st
Enjoy a fun and interactive classical music performance by the musicians of the Boulder Bach Festival! Boulder Bach Festival celebrates the music of Johann Sebastian Bach by providing high quality performances and educational opportunities that will not only satisfy those who already love Bach’s music, but will also introduce Bach’s music to others. Included with Museum admission.
