Lafayette, Colorado – WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) today announced upcoming events and programs at the Museum for the month of September. Unless otherwise noted, all listed events and programs are included with Museum admission.
Yoga for Kids – Every Wednesday at 4:00pm
Children of all ages (toddlers too!) are invited to join us for a fun, encouraging beginner level yoga class! In this 30-minute session, children will learn basic poses to create healthy energy, offer physical challenge, and inspire your imagination. No mat necessary, just bring a smile and wear comfortable shorts or pants. Parents are welcome to join too! Included with Museum admission.
Sensory Friendly Playtime – Sunday, September 9th
Sensory Friendly Playtime is a low sensory event for children with autism spectrum or sensory processing disorders. WOW! will limit admission to 20 families, turn down sounds and lights, and provide adaptive equipment to offer a safe and fun experience for all! This month, Daniel Kurty, M.Ed, Behavior Analyst and Founder of Wild Sun Behavioral Services, will host a 15-minute presentation beginning at 9:00am. Integral Steps – Friday, September 14th
High energy, exciting and fun, this program allows children to dance and play through a combination of music, movement, biology, and art! This program is presented by Emma Shubin of Integral Steps and is included with Museum admission.
Talk Like a Pirate Day – Wednesday, September 19th
Time: All Day
Aarh mateys! Board "arrr" pirate ship and celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day! We will be celebrating "arrr" favorite day with pirate activities and crafts between 9:30-11:30am and a pirate giveaway all day! Pirate costumes "arrr" encouraged! Activities are included with Museum admission.
A GRANDnight at the Museum – Friday, September 21st
Calling all grandkids, grandparents, and grandfriends! Enjoy a special evening together at WOW! to celebrate all things vintage and new. Peek a glimpse into Lafayette of yesteryear when the Museum was a fire station and the streets were filled with classic cars. Take a Polaroid photo and bring it home in a picture frame craft. Play bingo for prizes, groove to the oldies, and much more! Boxed dinners available for purchase in advance with your ticket.
