Summer Art & Science Classes at WOW! Children's Museum
Lafayette, Colorado -- WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) today announced that the Museum will be offering several interactive children’s art and science classes in July and August. Advanced registration is required for all classes. Please contact the Museum for registration and further information.
Summer Art Classes:
Hands-on art classes for children 5-11 years old. Adult participation is welcomed! All classes are scheduled for 1:00pm-1:45pm.
Tie Dying - Learn about old fashioned plant dyes and use plants to create designs on a bandana. Bring a white t-shirt to tie dye at the end of class! Wednesday, July 15th
Beads - Learn about the history of beads and make a bracelet of your own! Wednesday, August 12th
Summer Science Classes:
Interactive science classes for Pre-K (ages 3-5) and Grades K-2nd students. Adult participation required for all Pre-K classes.
Science of Bubbles - Explore the nature of bubbles. Why are they round? Create bubble making instruments while learning about the science of soap! Tuesday, July 14th / Pre-K Class: 10:15am-11:00am ; K-2nd Class: 1:00pm-1:45pm
Slime & Ooze - Come mix up gooey concoctions in this super science class! We'll experiment with solids, liquids, and gases to see how they pop and ooze. Wednesday, July 29th / Pre-K Class: 10:15am-11:00am ; K-2nd Class: 1:00pm-1:45pm
Science of Ice Cream - Learn about different states of matter while discussing the process of making ice cream. We will identify the purpose of ice cream ingredients and make yummy ice cream to eat! August 4th & August 5th (offered twice due to popularity!) / Pre-K Class: 10:15am-11:00am ; K-2nd Class: 1:00pm-1:45pm
Creepy Crawlies - Learn about different insects and the important jobs they do. Meet live insects and build a 'bug' to take home. Tuesday, August 25th / Pre-K Only: 10:15am-11:00am
Class Fees:
$9 per class for WOW! Museum Members
$10 per class for Non-Members
*Register for 3 or more art or science classes and receive a discounted rate of $8 for each class.
Registration:
Advanced registration and payment is required for all classes. Registration can be completed in person at the Museum or over the phone with Museum Staff. Please call for more information.
