Lafayette, Colorado - WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) is pleased to announce that the Museum has received a $2,500 grant from the Namasté Foundation. The grant supports WOW!’s programs in 2013 for at-risk girls, with a focus on encouraging gender equity and an interest in science, technology, engineering and math. Grant funds will be used to support the Museum’s science education programming and Museum admission for scholarship-eligible girls.
“Women graduate from college in larger numbers than men, but they fall behind when it comes to degrees in some of the fastest-growing - and most lucrative - scientific fields. By inspiring girls to discover their interest in science, technology, engineering and math at a young age, WOW! helps open the door for young women in the community to engage in exciting scientific innovation down the road,” said Jennifer Hinderliter, Executive Director, WOW! Children’s Museum.
