Boulder woman trades car for bike, just in time for Earth Day

Boulder local Lindsay Sworski, left, received a brand new car from her parents last year. Yesterday, she gave it away. Sworski agreed to loan her car to Boulder CarShare, a local nonprofit organization that promotes alternatives to individual car ownership, reducing environmental and social impacts associated with motor vehicle use. Here, Karen Worminghaus (driver's seat), director of CarShare, graciously accepts Sworski's car as part of the fleet. CarShare partnered with Community Cycles, another local nonprofit organization that advocates for the safe use of bicycles, to make Sworski's transition a smooth one. Rich Points (right), director of Community Cycles, helped to provide Sworski with a custom-fit bicycle in exchange for her car.
