Boulder County Junior American Citizens win contest "Preserving America's Past" in Poster Design, Short Story and Poetry

The Junior American Citizens Committee (JAC) within the Daughters of the American Revolution sponsors a series of contests for school aged children in kindergarten through grade 12.  Our goal is to help them get excited about American history, our government and take pride in our great nation.  Through these contests and recognition of the student’s work, we hope to encourage today's Junior American Citizens -- the future leaders of our country.

This year the National JAC Committee's theme "Preserving America's Past" included contests that were divided into three categories: Art, Creative Expression and Community Service.  Children were encouraged to think of people or events in the past that influenced America and to consider those who made significant contributions to make America the great Country it is today.
