You and your friends are invited to attend a talk by Dottie Lamm, author of "Daddy On Board: Parenting Roles for the 21st Century," on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at the Broomfield Auditorium. Dottie Lamm is the former first lady of Colorado, the mother of two and grandmother of three. She writes of a cultural shift in the U.S. that has seen fathers play an increased role in families and how parents balance the new roles. She will talk about her book and how parenting has changed since she and former Gov. Dick Lamm were raising two kids — and running a state. Her book provides an in-depth look at how today’s couples share parenting roles. She will discuss questions such as: • Why do the mommy wars still rage? • Are men natural nurturers? • How does increased “daddy involvement” benefit the kids? • What are the biggest problems couples have in negotiating their parenting roles? • And, how has the recent economic downturn affected parenting challenges? Please join us for this interesting and informative look at parenting roles. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call (303) 469-6449 or visit broomfieldacademy.com.
