Where do young people find guidance and inner quiet to figure out who they are and what goals to set?

Students today struggle with the overload of impressions, dizzying schedules, persuasive advertising, inappropriate role modeling of superstars and sports figures and stressed households.

The challenge of confronting these pressures creates an imbalance and breaks down the resilience pre-teen/adolescents need to find their way through this difficult developmental stage into adulthood. Educator and author Betty Staley will present “I’m So Full I’m Empty” in an appearance at The Denver Waldorf School Monday, April 27th at 7pm. She will describe the necessary aspects of the family, school and community which contribute to resilience. This evening is free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.denverwaldorf.org or contact communicate@denverwaldorf.org. The Denver Waldorf School is located at 940 Fillmore Street in the heart of the Congress Park neighborhood of Denver.

An educator for 40 years, Betty Staley consults for many schools, in particular Waldorf high schools (independent and public charter), lectures world-wide on adolescence and education, and has authored a total of seven books, among them Beyond Form and Freedom and most recently Adolescence-The Sacred Passage. She has translated the essence of Waldorf education into many different settings in service of transforming education for all children. Having been a key teacher in past decades and a founder of The Sacramento Waldorf School, Betty directs teacher educator programs through Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks, California - for independent Waldorf schools and for Waldorf-inspired public schools, for teachers of at-risk students and juvenile offenders, and workshops for public, parochial, and home school teachers.
