Local Teacher Leads Students to China

Kyle Wimmer, a local teacher and graduate of Broomfield High School, brought a group of seven students to China this summer through the student and teacher travel company EF Educational Tours, that offers guarenteed lowest prices on student travel. Kyle has been teaching art for the past five years and was awarded "Outstanding Rookie Art Educator of the Year" by the Colorado Art Education Association in June. The nine day trip to China consisted of the group traveling to the cities of Beijing, Xi'an, and Shanghai and seeing amazing sites such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the terra-cotta soldiers. The students learned the history and study of Chinese culture all while having fun in the process! The students ranged in ages from 13-18 years old and attend a few local schools around the surrounding area. This is the fifth such trip led by Kyle oversees through the company
EF Educational Tours . Kyle became interested in international travel when he was a student at Broomfield High School traveling twice to Kenya, Africa with
EF. Now, he has led trips to Australia, China, France, Italy, and Spain as a teacher. Currently, he is busy planning another tour for students in early June of 2010. The tour will include travel to four countries in Central Europe over a ten day period. Interested students (ages 12-23) should contact Kyle Wimmer via email for more information at kyle.wimmer@du.edu. Parents are also welcome to join their student in these once in a lifetime trips!
