Sacred Heart of Jesus 5th grade students reenact the Stations of the Cross

As part of the Easter and Holy Week celebration, the Sacred Heart of Jesus 5th grade students performed a living Stations of the Cross. Under the guidance of parent volunteer Julie Bala and teachers Kathy DuBois and Laura Weeden the students brought to life Jesus' last hours on earth. The children, narrating each of the 14 stations, related a modern day tale of personal hardship, turning your back on a friend or bullying to each of the sufferings Jesus endured on that day. The purpose of this event was to help the children understand the true meaning of living a Christian life.

Easter is the greatest feast in the Christian calendar. On this Sunday, Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. For Catholics, Easter Sunday comes at the end of 40 days of prayer and fasting known as Lent. The Easter celebration will take place at Sacred Heart of Jesus in downtown Boulder on Saturday, April 11th at 8:00pm or Sunday, April 12th at 7:00am, 9:00am and 11:00am. A mass in Spanish will be celebrated at 12:30pm. www.shjboulder.org
