Champions Lorraine Moller and Colleen Cannon provide fresh approach to fitness

Boulder, Co – Champion athletes Lorraine Moller and Colleen Cannon provided a “Heroines Approach” to fitness at the Boulder Athleta store in January.  Their free presentation “Skip the New Year’s resolutions and go for self-revelation,” is the first in a five part series on Fitness Alchemy presented at the store.

The Heroines approach is an in depth way of looking at personal transformation through fitness, explains Moller, winner of the Boston Marathon and the Avon women's marathon. She also set world records on the road; and placed fifth in the inaugural women's Olympic marathon in 1984. In the 1992 Barcelona Olympics she won a bronze medal in the women’s marathon.  Currently she is President of The Lydiard Foundation, providing endurance training education globally. Cannon is President, CEO and founder of Women’s Quest, a multisport fitness retreat providing athletic and holistic training for women worldwide. Prior to founding Women’s Quest, Colleen was a professional triathlete competing with over seventy career victories including world champion.

The two friends and competitors explain that the Heroines Approach is defined as going into the unknown and finding a path for yourself which has previously been hidden and underutilized in the conscious self.  “A fitness goal is a fantastic way to undertake the Heroines Journey,” Moller explains.  The two reminded the 35 enthusiastic attendees about empowerment and challenges. “And that when things seem to be going wrong, it is usually the precise  opportunity to put us right going forward. It is all a matter of perspective,” she says.
