Join us for WHAT/WHERE SERIES #3 with readings by Duriel Harris, Ella Longpre and Wheeler Light on

October 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the Nalanda Events Center, Nalanda Campus at 6287 Arapahoe, Boulder.  Admission is free.

 

Poet, performer, and sound artist, Duriel E. Harris is author of No Dictionary of a Living Tongue, Drag and Amnesiac and coauthor of the poetry video Speleology. Current undertakings include “Blood Labyrinth” and the solo performance project Thingification. Harris is an associate professor of English in the graduate creative writing program at Illinois State University and the Editor of Obsidian: Literature & Arts in the African Diaspora.

Ella Longpre is the author of How to Keep You Alive (CCM Press 2017), as well as three chapbooks: Apocalune (The Lune 2016), an eponymous collection of poetry and essay (Awst Press 2015), and The Odor of the Hoax was Gone (Monkey Puzzle 2013). Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in the Volta, Deluge, elimae, Entropy, Fanzine, summer stock, A Bad Penny Review, Tract/Trace, &Now’s anthology of innovative fiction, and other locations.

She has an MFA in Writing & Poetics from the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University, where she was named the 2013 Anne Waldman Fellow, and where she is now an adjunct professor. She also works in the Writing Center at the University of Colorado Boulder, and has worked as editor at the Fanzine, Bombay Gin, Something on Paper, and other journals. She is nothing without her chosen family and lives and writes in Colorado with her partner, where she studies erotics and disaster. She can be found in the woods.

Wheeler Light lives in Boulder, CO. He is receiving his BFA in poetics and music composition from Naropa University. His poems have appeared in Parody Poetry Magazine, NYSAI, and POSTblank. He has been a featured reader at the La-Ti-Do Cabaret, Great Weather for Media, and “The Legendary” Spit Dat on several occasions. He is the 2013 Beltway Newbie Slam Champion and placed top three in the 2013 National Poetry Youth Slam. His first chapbook, Hold that Thought. No, that One., is being published in 2017 by Mad Gleam Press.
