Boulder County Kids to Sing “Take me Out to the Ballgame” for Movie Soundtrack
Labragirl Pictures film will tell story of women in baseball
Louisville, Colorado, March 29, 2012….Children from all around Boulder County will gather to sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Park” on Saturday morning but it won’t be to launch the baseball season.
The participating boys and girls, who have no special training - just a love for the game and the song - will be recorded at Reel Kids in the Superior Marketplace for the soundtrack of Labragirl Pictures latest film entitled, “6-4-3.” The title refers to how a double play is achieved in baseball: six is the short-stop, 4 is the second baseman & 3 is the first baseman
According to Labragirl Pictures Producer Laurie Chin Sayres, the documentary is being made to restore the lost history of women active in professional baseball since the late 1800s. She explained, “We also want to open up a larger discussion about how and why a sport that has been synonymous with American culture still actively excludes girls and women in many ways.”
