Elevations Foundation awards scholarships

Elevations Foundation on May 19 celebrated its fifth birthday recapping nearly $1 million in community initiatives. Celebration of Community, held on the campus of the University of Colorado at Boulder, offered a look into the Foundation's successes and highlighted an impressive group of graduating seniors.

The foundation's 2015 scholarship initiative provided 14 awards with 10 of the scholars coming out of the St. Vrain Valley School District. The recipients were to Kimberly Valdez, Cassidy Kindelspire, Austin Garrett, Maria Soto, Alex Rodgers, Ethan Johan, Illan Rodriguez, Josh Kirby, Gavin Milburn and Emily Calzolari. Calzolari was the recipient of the Rhonda Herrman Scholarship. Don Haddad, Superintendent of the St. Vrain Valley School District, was present to congratulate his district's scholars.

"We are so delighted to have St. Vrain as a Foundation partner; these students continue to exceed our expectations," said Carol Krismann, Elevations Foundation board chair. "Coupled with Elevations' scholars at CU, a Credit Union scholarship initiative, we were able to support a total of 14 St. Vrain students during this scholarship cycle," Krismann went on to say.

In total, Elevations Foundation has provided in excess of $165,000 in scholarships for higher education during its first five years in existence. Elevations Foundation scholars are graduating high school seniors and award criteria is in part, needs-based.
