Longmont Hawks, Longmont Baseball League

The Longmont Hawks, part of the Longmont Baseball League program, clinched a spot in the championship game of the 2015 CABA State 11U Tournament held in Lakewood, Golden and Louisville on June 26-28, 2015.

The Hawks played and won two games on Friday and two games Saturday earning them a first seed position going in to Sunday's championship round. On Sunday, the Hawks played and won against the Summit Extreme earning them a spot in the championship game. The Hawks played the Colorado Crush for the championship game, placed second and earned a state championship ring. The final score was 8-5.

"These boys played their heart out and it showed," said Bob Sekich, Longmont Hawks general manager, "We came in to this tournament after having a couple weeks off which can sometimes work against you. We knew we would see some really good teams but these boys showed up ready to take it all. I couldn't be prouder of these boys and the way they played."

The Longmont Hawks are associated with the LBL (Longmont Baseball League) which offers baseball programs for a variety of ages and skill levels. LBL is located at 100 Tenth Ave., Longmont. Call 720-684-6286.
