On May 8th at the DL Parsons Theater in Northglenn, the Rocky Mountain Brassworks takes you back to the days of vaudeville shows that contained energetic and diverse talent on the stage each night. Enjoy the ribald and foot stomping music of this genre, including “Puttin’ On the Ritz,” “Mack the Knife” and “12th Street Rag” as well as other tunes that echo this bygone
era
.  As a thank you to both our audience and the Adams County Scientific and Cultural
Facilities District, this concert is free to the public.

The band will also entertain the audience with the well-known and cherished “Suite from Porgy and Bess,” and the wildly raucous and untamed “Bacchanale.”

Principal cornetist Larry Pennel commented during a recent rehearsal, “We are having a great time rehearsing for this concert.  The music selections are fun, upbeat and enjoyable.  An entertaining
concert like this is a great way to end our season, including the fact that it’s absolutely free to our audience!”

All seats are general admission - doors open at 7pm and the concert starts at 7:30pm. The DL Parsons Theater is located at 11801 Community Center Drive, Northglenn, Colorado.

The Rocky Mountain Brassworks is a Colorado-based brass band with the traditional instrumentation of a British brass band (the most notable aspect is the absence of any trumpets or french horns).  We will mark our 35th anniversary in 2011.  Our repertoire is extensive including; marches, classical music, pop and show tunes, swing, holiday selections, patriotic and Americana music, and orchestral transcriptions.  We perform several concerts in the Denver area each year and support public school music education with our free school program performances. Rocky Mountain Brassworks is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization.
