  is our Virtual Garden Tour Host showing off the backyard wetland that
  he created.  This is a peaceful space to hang out and enjoy the tric
 kling of water and birdsong.  He will talk to us about the mechanics 
 of how he created his pond and wetland with Colorado native plants bor
 dering its banks.\nJohn is the principal ecologist and owner of the fi
 rm, AloTerra Restoration Services in Fort Collins.  He has wide and d
 eep experience with restoration of not only wetlands, but forests, pra
 iries, stream banks, and open spaces.  The organization strives for h
 ighly functioning ecological states in all their installations.  He w
 ill educate you on the value of wetlands, and their role in creating c
 lean water and air, and habitat for birds, small mammals, amphibians a
 nd reptiles.  He will give us a list of recommended native plant spec
 ies and the correct ways to plant and maintain those so that they can 
 thrive in your backyard wetlands!\nAlso a founder of the Southern Rock
 ies Seed Network, John has valuable knowledge on collecting the right 
 species and learning how to track the phenology of plants to know when
