 andscape painters will invade Boulder September 8th.  Some of Color
 ado’s most talented outdoor painters will bring their paint boxes a
 nd easels to Sawhill Ponds well known for its vistas of the mountain
 s across the ponds with walking trails and fishing. This remarkable 1
 5th Annual World Wide event is happening with the support of Internati
 onal Plein Air Painters and Plein Air Artists Colorado.  Artists are 
 expected from all across Colorado and New Mexico, and some from acros
 s the country to converge on Boulder on the 8th of September to pai
 nt outdoors.\n Plein air artists seek the quality of natural light an
 d atmosphere outdoors.  Their art work is in direct response to the b
 eauty they find in nature.  They use a variety of media, from oils, t
 hrough watercolors and pastels.  \nThe public will be able to join in
  the fun by watching individual artists work and moving from painter t
 o painter 7:30 AM -2 PM. \nThere will be a greeter at the Ponds entr
 ance, Gail Denton welcoming artists and guests, showing them where t
 he paintings are being created!\nEvent organizers, Debby McAllister, J
 eanne Echternach, Holly Kernes, and Jennifer Riefenberg, say there is 
 a joy about paintings outdoors and this is a chance for people to see 
 professional artists at work, developing their paintings in response t
 o the beauty in nature.\n \nIn the evening, everyone is invited to at
 tend the Plein Air Artists Colorado 21st Annual National Juried Exhibi
 tion of Plein Air paintings at Mary Williams Fine Art Gallery, 5311 We
 stern Ave #112, Boulder, CO 80301 Phone: (303) 938-1588  An artists' 
 reception will be held from 5pm to 8pm  with a presentation of awards
  at 7pm. The public is invited to view the art and meet the artists.Â
  Light refreshments will be served.\nThe Awards Juror Albert Handell, 
 PAAC Master Signature Member will present the Awards. As well, he will
  be conducting a Workshop on September 9th in Boulder.\n \nPlein air 
 painting developed in France in the mid-19th century and is becoming i
 ncreasingly popular. \nLast year's World Wide event drew artists from
  all over the Globe. Many new Plein air painting groups were formed di
 rectly from this event. PAAC Members Leslie Allen, Kathryn McMahon, an
 d Debra Joy Groesser have participated in IPAP events for nearly a dec
 ade or more.\n \nInternational Plein Air Painters, who has members wh
 o reside throughout the World, is the blanket organization for individ
 ual Plein air groups and was created for the sole purpose of advancing
  the execution and enjoyment of Plein air painting without limitations
  of borders or regions. \n \n IPAP's members are the quiet activist
 s in the ongoing environmental struggle.\nThey call attention to the t
 hreatened urban scene and the vanishing farmland for history. \nIts m
 embers share inspiration and encouragement both on the Internet and at
  \"paint outs\".  PAAC hosts seven weekly paint out groups throughout
  Colorado.\nThey encourage other artists to get out and do it, to pain
