DESCRIPTION:\nDenver – March 10, 2021 – Special Olympics Colorado 
 (SOCO), Colorado’s premier sports organization for individuals with 
 intellectual disabilities, is thrilled to host its annual Polar Plunge
  Series presented by Westerra Credit Union. Polar Plunge is a cold-wea
 ther fundraiser aimed at raising $400,000 to provide critical funding 
 for more than 15,000 Special Olympics Colorado athletes. The next even
 t in the series will take place at Windsor Lake, located at 100 N. 5th
  St., on Saturday, March 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. \nA Polar Plunge i
 s a unique event where participants enter a body of cold water to rais
 e money for SOCO. Entering its thirteenth year in Colorado, Polar Plun
 ge is one of SOCO’s most recognizable fundraisers and provides suppo
 rters an easy way to raise funds, engage with athletes and have fun fo
 r a great cause. \nThe 2021 Polar Plunge Series takes health and safe
 ty very seriously. As a result, the series is a mix of modified in-per
 son events and virtual, at-home offerings. In addition to the Windsor 
 Plunge, other in-person plunge locations include: \n\n• Boulder Plu
 nge + 5k Run - April 10 - Boulder Reservoir \n• Aurora Plunge + 5k 
 Run - April 17 - Aurora Reservoir \n• Colorado Springs Plunge Roule
 tte + 5k Run - April 24 – UC Health Park \n\n\nNew in 2021, partici
 pants may also choose to “chill at home” by taking a video of thei
 r plunge activity and tagging #VIRTUALPLUNGECO on Facebook or Instagra
 m. Additionally, Colorado Springs Plunge participants can enjoy the wo
 rld’s first Polar Plunge Roulette. Teams spin a wheel and are doused
  by whatever the wheel lands on ice-cold water, a mystery beverage and
  more. \n“Polar Plunge represents the best of Special Olympics Colo
 rado,” said Megan Scremin, Special Olympics Colorado president and C
 EO. “With plunges from Trinidad to Windsor, this effort showcases ho
 w people from across Colorado can come together to support our athlete
 s when they need us most.” \nThe fundraising minimum to plunge is $
