On Tuesday, July 19th Carmella, Mini Trooper and miniature horse with the Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center (CTRC) joined Elektra Greer and 160 people at the Longmont Public Library for Story Time. Carmella was a huge hit. Elektra read a story to the children and families that were there and Carmella stayed until everyone had a chance to meet her.
Founded in 1980, the Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center is the oldest and largest therapeutic riding center in Colorado and is a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center. CTRC has been changing lives for people with special needs for over 36 years by providing premier equine assisted services.
The Colorado Therapeutic Riding Center’s Mini Troopers program was launched in 2006 with the goal of utilizing a miniature horse and outreach team to facilitate the well-being of people with special needs who could benefit from the human-animal bond and for a variety of reasons are unable to come to CTRC. Carmella, CTRC’s miniature horse and Mini Trooper along with the Mini Troopers Team visit over 800 people a year.
