Lafayette, Colorado – WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) today announced upcoming events and programs at the Museum for the month of November. Unless otherwise noted, all listed events and programs are included with Museum admission.
Dia de los Muertos – Thursday, November 1st
Join us for a special Dia de los Muertos celebration with crafts, storytelling, and more! Activities are included with Museum admission.
Kids Vote Too! – Tuesday, November 6th
Practice your rights as an American citizen and participate in WOW!'s election! Kids will be able to vote and let their voices be heard all day at our voting booth! Finally we will know who will win: Pizza or Tacos? Pirates or Dinosaurs? Cats or Dogs? Voting activities are included with Museum admission.
The Dance Front Class – Wednesday, November 7th
Join Miss Kathe from The Dance Front for a sample of her “First Dance” class for children ages 2-4. Class includes fun with puppets, streamers, songs, and of course, dancing! Parent participation encouraged. The Dance Front is a new dance studio located in downtown Louisville, offering classes for students aged 2 years to adults. Dance class is included with Museum admission.
Colorado Educational Theater Program – Thursday, November 8th
Tales of animals, both foolish and wise, will once again delight and inspire early learners. Children will participate in bringing stories to life through creative movement, mime, and songs! This interactive program is presented by Colorado Educational Theater and is included with Museum admission.
Integral Steps – Friday, November 9th
High energy, exciting and fun, this program allows children to dance and play through a combination of music, movement, biology, and art! This program is presented by Emma Shubin of Integral Steps and is included with Museum admission.
Sensory Friendly Playtime – Sunday, November 11th
Sensory Friendly Playtime is a low sensory event for children with autism spectrum or sensory processing disorders. WOW! will limit admission to 20 families, turn down sounds and lights, and provide adaptive equipment to offer a safe and fun experience for all! Boulder Bach Festival Music Program – Monday, November 12th
Join us for a fun, interactive musical performance with Boulder Bach Festival violinist Renée Hemsing Patten. Renée will demonstrate a variety of different musical styles from classical to fiddling! This musical program is included with Museum admission.
Littlest Learners Class – Tuesday, November 13th and Wednesday, November 28th
Time: 9:00am (November 13th class); 4:00pm (November 28th class)
Littlest Learners is a new series of hands-on classes at the Museum for infants and toddlers (ages 0-3 years) and their caregivers to explore fine motor, gross motor, and cognitive experiences. Classes are offered monthly with a different theme each month. Classes often feature a special guest from the community and are always included with Museum admission!
Lava Lamp Making – Tuesday, November 13th
Come join Gini, Director of Early Childhood Education, for a blast from the past activity, lava lamps! As part of our WOW @ Home series and in correlation with our Forest of Light exhibit, we’ll use our scientific minds to make lava lamp bags. Wacky World of Wind – Tuesday, November 20th
Experience the wacky world of wind! Use the wind tube from the Boulder Public Library’s Makerspace, BLDG 61, to create wonderfully windy creations. Test objects of different shapes and sizes to see where the wind takes them, and work with friends to create objects that float, twirl and soar! This event is open to all ages and is included with Museum admission.
Let’s Do Chemistry! – Wednesday, November 21st
Let’s Do Chemistry! Come join us for a morning of hands-on chemistry experiences. We will play with color, scent, launch rockets, clean up oil spills, and more! Awarded to the Museum by NISE Network, the Let's Do Chemistry kit is designed to teach visitors that chemistry is interesting, chemistry is connected to my life, and anyone can do chemistry! Let’s Do Chemistry activities are included with Museum admission.
Healthy Eating Program – Tuesday, November 27th
Come join Gini, Director of Early Childhood Education to learn all about healthy eating and make a yummy treat. Together we’ll make simple lettuce wraps, so easy even your toddler can do it!
