WOW! Children's Museum Awarded $75,000 Grant from Colorado Garden Foundation

Lafayette, Colorado – WOW! Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) is pleased to announce that the Museum has received a $75,000 Major Grant from the Colorado Garden Foundation.  The Colorado Garden Foundation awards one Major Grant annually to a Colorado non-profit organization or government agency.  This prestigious and generous grant will support a complete renovation and transformation of WOW!’s outdoor garden space.    

Outdoor play is one of the most treasured parts of childhood!  Our new outdoor experiences will provide a place for children to enjoy the natural environment, learn to seek out exercise, fresh air, and activity, and promote care of the environment.  The enclosed courtyard garden will contain learning zones focused on sensory experiences, horticulture exploration, and wellness including a demonstration garden, outdoor play kitchen, and landscaping elements to climb and explore.  In partnership with Brightview Landscapes, WOW!’s new outdoor garden space is scheduled to open Summer 2019.

Colorado Garden Foundation awards grants to organizations and scholarships to individuals throughout Colorado. In the past 60 years, organizations throughout Colorado have received grants totaling over $8.3 million from Colorado Garden Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to furthering the horticultural industry.  Each year, money raised from the Colorado Garden & Home Show and the Colorado Fall Home Show supports horticultural and related activities throughout Colorado.
