Zonta Foothills Club of Boulder County Taking Applications for Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship

Zonta Foothills Club of Boulder County announces that applications for the 2020 Jane M Klausman Women in Business Scholarships are now available for undergraduate and post-graduate women enrolled in a business degree program and working towards a business management career. What is The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship?

Zonta International believes in gender equality and through The Jane M. Klausman (JMK) Women in Business Scholarship we are working to elevate women into leadership positions in the business arena. First awarded in 1998, The JMK Scholarship helps women pursue undergraduate and master's degrees in business management to overcome gender barriers from classroom to boardroom at local and international levels.

 

How does The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship work?

Women in at least the second year of an undergraduate program through the final year of a Masters program are eligible to apply (Application link here.) The Zonta Foothills Club of Boulder County selects a local winner to receive their $1,000 scholarship. This business student is then considered for additional scholarship funding at both the District 12 and International level. The District winner, selected from a four-state region, receives an additional $2,500 scholarship and is then considered by the Zonta International Board to win one six world-wide scholarships of $8,000 each. Applications are due to president@zontafoothills.org by May 15, 2020.

 

What is The Zonta Foothills Club of Boulder County?

An all-volunteer organization, Zonta Foothills Club of Boulder County has supported women and girls in Boulder County since 1982. Best known for their Zonta EducateZ project which they launched to support under resourced women and girls who face obstacles to education, They supported the Boulder Valley Schools, Community Food Share, Mother House, the Milagros Scholarship, Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA), Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA), Community Food Share, Sister Carmen, Harvest of Hope and others through service, advocacy, scholarships and other support. The Foothills Club has awarded more than $80,000 in educational scholarships to women since 2010 and provided more than 45,000 books to Boulder families through free libraries. They mentor high school and college-aged women through their Z Club programs.
