As a 4-time cancer survivor, State Representative Dianne Primavera (D-Broomfield) knows the importance of regular screenings. She sponsored the pink mammogram van at Broomfield Days this year. 35 women received mammograms at not cost (all but 5 had no health insurance), and a waiting list of 85 women was collected. Because the event was such a success, the van will make two more trips to Broomfield and surrounding areas in the coming weeks to see all of the women seeking an appointment for a free mammogram. One in seven women in Colorado will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
