One of the biggest delights of hiking around Boulder's Open Spaces is happening upon the varied wildlife of which their are many! this was taken in East Boulder.

Are you are profestional? What time of day did you see this owl? What lens did you use and what settings? I am a budding photographer and I would love any pointers.

Hi Emily!  No I'm retired and do this for fun,  I use a Nikon D750 with a 200-500 Nikon Zoom F/8 at 1/650 sec. I set the camera up for auto ISO mode so I can keep the aperture and speed constant.  This was in the afternoon but he was being chased by smaller birds that blew his cover!  Take care!
