Family History Discovery Day

Imagine uncovering the stories, photos and records that connect you to your family’s past, and learning how to share them with future generations. Family History Discovery Day is the perfect place to help you find answers and start (or continue) your journey, no matter your experience level. 

Hosted by the Longmont Genealogical Society, Family History Discovery Day is a free event open to the public of all ages and backgrounds. Everyone is invited to join the fun on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1721 Red Cloud Road, Longmont, near the corner of 17th and Alpine.

Guests are invited to drop in any time to stay for a few minutes or the whole day.

Highlights of Family History Discovery Day include:

• Stations covering topics like family tree tools, beginning genealogy, and displays of family history resources
• Classes running throughout the event with topics including DNA, Learning from Relatives, Ancestry, Family Search, Censuses, and Immigration
• Friendly, knowledgeable guides to help answer individual questions
• Local connections for ongoing support and learning beyond the event
• Light snacks
