Depression as Awakening
Depression is very common in our modern age, in large part because many have lost awareness of the spiritual basis of their existence. One is susceptible to depression when suffering from spiritual dysfunctionalities, such as: no strong basic values; no purpose in life; no recognition of the Sacred Within; or over-bearing attachments to things antithetical to one's soul. The good news is that disciplined development of a spiritual life will inexorably release the shackles of most depression. In this presentation, Chris Cole will discuss the spiritual aspects of depression and provide a clear path to freedom. Chris will credibly ground the presentation by describing his own struggles with mental illness.
