THE ART UNDERGROUND UNVEILS NEW FALL PROGRAMS

The Art Underground located at 901 Front St. in Historic Downtown Louisville is currently enrolling adults and students of all ages in a wide variety of dance, theatre, music and visual arts programs for this Fall. “Our new airy space on Front St. allows us to offer a large variety of quality classes to families and individuals of all ages and backgrounds,” says Lori Jones, Founder and Executive Director of The Art Underground. “We have custom-designed our dance studio with special flooring to attract top-notch instructors for our various dance, performance arts, and rhythm and movement classes with additional studio space for visual arts, sewing and music classes.”

Pre-schoolers can experience dance for the first time with Teddy Bear Ballet or Princess Ballet and Tap. Combination Polka Dot Art and dance classes are also available for a fun-filled morning. Music Together, Pre-School Musical and African Games and Dance are other programs offered at The Art Underground which aim to build a foundation of musical skills in young children.

For teens and school age children, The Art Underground offers dance classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop and swing/salsa. A wide variety of theatre programs including Popcorn Theatre and One Acts Club provide kids and teens with the chance to develop drama skills and stage productions. A teen film program will be led by a professional filmmaker-mentor and a new photography program is being headed up by a popular, award-winning photography teacher. Sewing workshops, cartoon development, holiday printmaking and stencil/graffiti classes will also be offered. Bring It To Broadway, a new master class series of vocal workshops and audition instruction featuring Catherine Walker from Broadway’s Mary Poppins, will provide students with the rare opportunity to work with a current Broadway actor and learn about her journey to the big stage. Vocal instruction and Celtic music is also available.

For adults, The Art Underground offers a ballet, jazz, tap sampler, hip-hop, NIA, beginning Latin and ballroom dance classes. Professional artists will conduct classes in drawing, painting and printmaking.

The Art Underground is a non-profit organization located in Historic Downtown Louisville that offers dance, theatre, music, photography, film and visual arts classes for all ages. Founded in 2007 by concerned parents and community leaders, The Art Underground also hosts art galleries/exhibitions and other events that promote opportunities for patrons and artists to connect and support a growing arts community in East Boulder County.
