Sunrise Market grand opening to feature pre-game party with free food, music and fun!

Sunrise Market & Deli (www.sunrise-market.com), 900 28th St. in The Lotus Center, welcomes neighbors, community members, University of Colorado students and football fans to kick off the season and the store’s grand opening with a pre-game party this Saturday. CU plays Eastern Washington University at 1:30 p.m.
The party, set for 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., will feature the Steve Altermatt Wild 7 Piece Band (www.stevealtermatt.com), FREE hamburgers, FREE samples from Sunrise vendors and FREE Rat’s Wood Shack BBQ fare. Rat’s is owned by master barbecue chef Darryl Johnson, who got his nickname, “Rat,” while playing football at CU in the mid ’80s as a running back.
Sunrise Market is a locally owned neighborhood convenience market. It offers organic and natural groceries and convenience items as well as America’s favorite conventional brands. Delivery of groceries or prepared food from the deli is also available, making shopping or grabbing a quick bite easy and efficient. And now everything you need is just blocks from your door!
Sunrise Market opened in early August and is located just across from CU, just under the underpass at the Frontage Road off of 28th Street and Aurora. Hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. Phone: (303) 443-9214; fax: (303) 444-1753; Web site: www.sunrise-market.com.
