YWCA of Boulder County Offers Voter Dialogue Sessions on Affirmative Action

The YWCA of Boulder County and the University of Colorado are partnering to host two dialogue sessions on Affirmative Action. This fall, voters will be asked to determine the future of affirmative action in Colorado. This will undoubtedly be a heated issue as we approach the election. There will be two opportunities to participate in this dialogue: Tuesday, September 30th and Tuesday, October 14th. Both will be from 5:30 – 7:00 pm at the YWCA of Boulder County. The YWCA is located at 2222 14th Street in Boulder. The sessions are organized in conjunction with a research project by Michele S. Moses, Associate Professor at CU-Boulder, to determine whether forums and dialogues impact the way participants think about affirmative action. Participants will not be required to arrive at a shared judgment during the forum. Participants will be provided with substantive and meaningful information regarding the issue and will be given the tools to engage in a democratic deliberation about the issue. For more information please contact the YWCA at 303-443-0419 or visit our website at www.ywcaboulder.org.The YWCA stands for You, Women, Children, All of us. The YWCA provides services for Boulder County families that protect children, empower women and girls, and work to eliminate racism. The YWCA has the only emergency, drop-in childcare center in Boulder County and also provides programs that build self-esteem and develop the skills necessary for economic self-sufficiency.
