YWCA and Facing History and Ourselves Offer “Race and Immigration” Workshop

The YWCA of Boulder County and Facing History and Ourselves are excited to offer a workshop on “Race and Immigration” on Monday, October 6, 2008 from 5:00 – 7:30 pm at the YWCA of Boulder County, 2222 14th Street in Boulder. This program is free and snacks will be provided.Using film clips and readings, participants will explore the role that race has played in the development of immigration policy in the United States and discuss whether race impacts current policy in the United States or in other nations. Participants will have the opportunity to deepen their historical background on immigration and consider the complexity of this issue with the goal of making the topic of immigration more approachable in the classroom and our community.This workshop is sponsored by the Bamboo Fund.For more information please contact the YWCA at 303-443-0419 or visit our website at www.ywcaboulder.org.
