Local Girl invited to Ironman World Championships after one competition!!

"On April 20th, 2008, Lentine Zahler (formerly Kennel) a graduate of the Boulder High School class of 1999 participated in her first long-course distance triathlon, Ironman China, on the island of Hainan. On the morning of the race, concerns about potential race cancellations and adverse racing conditions subsided, the temperature climbed to 30C/90F by 8am and the 500 athletes set out to complete the full Ironman-distance race (2.4m swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run.) Zahler crossed the finish line in 12:18 as the second place finisher in the 25-29 age group, and the 14th woman overall. Her finishing time earned her a slot to the World Championship race in Kona, Hawaii on October 11th, 2008. ,
