Governor Ritter Honors Top Colorado Math Students

On Tuesday, May 13, Governor Bill Ritter recognized the math achievements of top Colorado students at a ceremony in the State Capitol. Boulder County honorees included Ryan Schilt, Jonathan Olson, Joseph Adams, CU-Boulder; Ben Alpert, Thomas Davids, Chris Guthrie, Charles Xu, Fairview High School; Alexander Black, Summit Middle Charter School; and Nicolas Ledru, Southern Hills Middle School.

The college students were recognized for winning a Meritorious Ranking in the international Mathematical Contest in Modeling. The high school students were honored for qualifying for the prestigious USA Mathematical Olympiad. The middle school students were recognized for winning the Colorado MATHCOUNTS Competition.
