Silver Award earned by 2 local Girl Scouts !!

Kate Rosenlof (Southern Hills Middle School) and Leanna Landis (Casey Middle School) earned their Silver Award from the Girl Scouts and were honored at a dinner last week.

The Silver Award comprises leadership, community service, personal growth, and a culminating project that takes 40 hours or more to complete. Leanna and Kate planned, coordinated, and ran a global awareness celebration that included booths representing various countries, foods from those countries, entertainment from the Casey Middle School Baile Folklorico dance group, and donations for the World Association of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides. The booths were staffed by several local Girl Scouts troops who researched the cultures of a country and presented information about that country at the celebration ! Carrie Hausfather and Mary Ann McWhirter are the troop leaders.
