"The Broomfield Yankees, 13 Majors Division 1 baseball team, captured the prestigious Colorado Triple Crown State Championship July 11-13 at Stazio Park in Boulder. The Yankees continued their 6 year run as the preeminent Colorado baseball team in their age group by once again wining the State Title. The Yankees posted a 3-1 pool play record prior to Elimination bracket play. On the final day of the tournament the Yankees came to play and won their semifinal against the Legacy Shockers 10-2. Broomfield continued to battle and won the championship by defeating 5280 Baseball 17-13. The Yankees jumped out to a 14-2 lead and never looked back. The boys are looking forward to representing Broomfield in the Triple Crown World Series July 21-27 in Steamboat Springs."
