Ann Clarke of Gr8 Ideas at Work! and Joan King of Beyond Success Present April 23 Mini-Retreat
“Discover your true path to success” bring coaches, resources together to help professionals realize their full potential
Ann Clarke, CEO and founder of Colorado Women of Influence, invites local professionals to attend a “mini-retreat” presented by Joan King, Master Certified Coach and author of Cellular Wisdom. The event will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23 at The Garden Room, 697 Denver Avenue in Loveland.
“Discover your true path to success” is designed to help area professionals “discover their own greatness, and learn how to achieve their full potential,” according to Clarke, who will introduce and set the tone for the event. The event gives participants the opportunity to pause, reflect and explore both their personal and professional life with a cadre of extraordinary coaches, personally selected by King, in a safe environment.
King, who is one of just 633 International Coach Federation Master Certified Coaches worldwide, has a background in neurosciences and psychology, will lead the event along with other personal and business coaches from the Front Range area. The event will feature the premier of a three-minute inspirational video entitled “Beyond Success to GREATNESS.” The video features motivational text written by King, with music written by Oscar-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch, who also plays the piano in the piece.
King will then offer a 40-minute presentation entitled “Evoke Your Greatness,” which explores the concept of “Cellular Wisdom,” and how the body acts as an inner teacher for thriving in daily life. Following the presentation, attendees will enjoy a short period of private reflection, then experience an interactive coaching session to learn more about their own approaches to addressing difficult issues — and how to do so from their “place of greatness,” according to King.
Attendees will also get the opportunity to speak directly with all of the participating coaches, who are being personally selected by King. After a break, small groups will be led by each of the coaches. To close the session, King will discuss ways in which attendees can define a set of “winning principles” that they can implement in their life and work.
Ann Clarke, the event’s co-host and lead organizer said of the mini-retreat, “Joan King is well known and highly respected across the country as an outstanding personal and business coach. This is an outstanding opportunity for people on Joan’s home turf to learn more about the valuable expertise she has to offer. We anticipate that the event will help attendees tap into their personal strengths so that they can move forward toward achieving greatness.”
The mini-retreat will take place Thursday, April 23, 2009 at The Garden Room in Loveland, Colorado, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The cost is $99 per person. Attendees may also register in advance for an optional lunch with one of the participating coaches from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. for an additional $20. To learn more about the event, or to register, visit

Joan King
Joan King has led a rewarding life, blending faith, personal experience and science into a life-long quest for learning. The death of her father when she was just 10 changed her from a carefree child to a serious young woman trying to understand the deepest layers of life. She studied philosophy and theology in a Dominican convent for 11 years, until she came to the realization that for her, "religious answers were not enough." She then looked to science as she earned Ph.D.s in Neurosciences and Psychology from Tulane University. For 20 years she was a professor and neuroscience researcher at Tufts University Schools of Medicine in Boston, MA, where she also served as chair of the Department of Anatomy and Cellular Biology and Director of a multi-campus research center.
Her quest for learning continued when she left the academic world. In 1998, she founded Beyond Success, LLC, her certified professional/personal coaching business, in Massachusetts, and moved to Colorado in 2003. Her goal is to assist others in the same process of self-examination, self-reflection and self-actualization that she experienced in her own life and career. In 2004 she published Cellular Wisdom, which links personal exploration with the science of the body and guides readers on a comprehensive journey toward discovering their authentic, essential beings.
Today Joan King is a neuroscientist, author, speaker and highly credentialed coach and coach trainer. She serves clients nationwide. For more information visit
